WHERE TO GO

To be truthfully honest....I don't know! Sanur isn't one of those places that is (hopefully never going to) packed with pool and beach clubs to sip on lavish cocktails with pumping music blaring...instead...we headed down to Sanurs pristine shores just next to La Playa (one of the beachside restaurants) and hired some beach loungers for about $10 and spent the day on the beach. We grabbed some $2 Bintangs from the mini mart we were parked out front of, grabbed some snacks and drinks for the kids and relaxed. All day.

You can hire a jet ski if you'd like or try parasailing...we enjoyed watching a couple learn how to waterski and we made wonderful sandcastle palaces in the sand decorated lavishly with the shells and coral washed up on shore.

Sanur is slow paced. Enjoy slowing down into lifes pleasures. Hire a bike and get lost in the streets. Ride down the long stretched boardwalk lining the beach or wake up early to watch the sunrise and try your hand at beach yoga.

If you ask to head to La Playa, you'll be at the start of a long row of beautiful beachside restaurants.

We LOVED Coco Bistro!

The restaurant serves a 2 metre long charcoal grill with a selection of roasted skewers. Absolutely delicious and spectacular to see...for the small price of $35...it also includes soup for starters, rice, a selection of vegetables and icy cold refreshing iced teas. If you're in the area...I HIGHLY recommend to try it.

ALL of the restaurants lining the beach are just beautiful, you won't have to fight for a seat and you'll most often be serenaded by some live music playing. The kids can play on the beach out the front while you and your better half finish your cocktails.

Try Nest Beachside Spa for a relaxing massage...or for the budget conscious the small set up next to La Playa!

My favourite food and coffee hangs in the area were:

Malaika Secret Moshka: to get my vegan fix

Grocer & Grind: for seriously good coffee

Genius Café: for a good feed (and wifi)

Dusk Blue: for awesome décor and tucker

Kopitoko: for your morning coffee hit

Kopi Bali House: for delicious Kopi...I mean coffee!
