NUSA ISLAND PARADISE

Palm trees and salty breeze, sandy hair....take me there!!! Escape the crazy busy streets of Bali and set sail across the seas to the tropical islands of Nusa Lembongan, Nusa Ceningan and Nusa Penida. White sandy beaches await your arrival and crystal clear blue waters to refresh your soul. The one thing I realised on our first trip to Bali was that as wonderful it was to live it up in Seminyak and its surrounds, we did not have any "chill time" to literally plant ourselves on a beach, grab a cocktail and breathe...thus on our return, we decided to spend some time on Nusa Lembongan, submerse ourselves into island life and slow down the pace. Back home in Australia, we lead a crazy busy life, an acrobatic circus act of juggling shift work, my husband flying in and out of the state for work commitments, school life, preschool, after school activities and all other matters of social engagements that NEVER allow for us to have more than 5 minutes rest. So we used this leg of our Bali trip (although the Nusa Islands are not technically a part of Bali) to stop the madness of our stupidly busy lives.

The islands force you to do nothing but breathe in the salty air, soak in the sun and every now and then jump into the aqua hues of the ocean. In saying this...there is also no shortage of "things to do" and "places to see" you can create your visit to accommodate your needs. Laze on a beach all day...or jump off the cliff tops into the Blue Lagoon. The choice is yours.

Daily charters run cruises over to the islands departing from Benoa Harbour...it takes about 45 minutes to reach Nusa Lembongan (or in Bali terms about 2 Bintangs). If you don't feel you'd like to stay, then you can just visit for the day....but I assure you...once you see all these islands have to offer, you'll wish you'd booked to stay on it's sandy shores.

So grab your towel, get a good book and plant yourself under a palm tree and soak in the vitiman sea!
